An Introduction and Overview to Tiny House Construction

In this class, we will learn the basic fundamentals involved in the tiny house construction process. This is a lecture-based class that gives students an overview of tiny house construction, and there will be a completed tiny home at the school that will give students the opportunity to experience how it might “feel” to live in a tiny home. This class is ideal for the person who is contemplating building a tiny house with the goal being to have students walk away with the knowledge to make an informed decision. Topics covered in the class are not limited to, but will cover, design considerations, construction techniques, codes, tiny house living. This class will be held at the Long Branch School facility at 25 Main Street in Bowdoinham. Bring note pad if desired. No discounts.
Art Journaling With Photographs

Learn how to incorporate precious photos in a mixed media art journal. Use different art mediums and learn several art journaling techniques involving your own photographs. Students will have time to create at least two journal pages and should bring several photos (or copies of them) to adhere in an art journal. Join us for an introduction to Bachata! Students will learn the basic of the Bachata footwork and some simple, fun moves that will get you out on the dance floor. You will learn how to connect with any partner, and build your confidence dancing to different styles and tempos of music. No dance partner needed. We recommend all dance students wear flat shoes.
Ballroom Dance, Beginner Session IV

Students get a unique opportunity to learn both Latin and American Ballroom in one class! Latin Ballroom is one of the hottest dance crazes to hit the U.S.; it’s fun, romantic and a great form of exercise. Cruises, nightclubs, weddings, reunions and parties are always more fun when you are dancing, and American Ballroom Dance is a perfect ice breaker. At any social event, the sight of a great dancer moving to a captivating beat is simply irresistible, and now you too can step into that light with confidence. No partner or prior dance experience necessary. In Sessions I and III students learn all the basics in Foxtrot, Swing, Salsa and Merengue. In Sessions II and IV students learn all the basics in Waltz, Rhumba, Cha Cha and Tango. No discounts.

We will have fun singing songs in parts (SATB) while discussing vocal production to help you become a stronger singer. Beginning to Stay Home Alone

Using games, puzzles, and discussion , students ages 8-11 learn the knowledge and skills needed to begin to stay home alone. Students learn about safe snacks and activities as well how to deal with potential problems, such as a fire or medical emergency. Includes a take-home booklet to be shared with parents. No discounts.
