Wild Food Foraging Walk

This 3 hour course will include walking the woods to find edible wild food along with detailed descriptions of habitat and structure of the plants. Please contact the school to learn more about the specific location of the walk. David has been foraging for over fifty years. He is a member of the Maine Mycological Society and the North American Mycological Assoc. Supplies to bring: notebook and pen to take notes on your finds is very useful. A GPS may be an even better solution, basket, mesh or other bags, wax or brown paper bags, knife, bug repellant and hat, water or other refreshment and a snack, gloves, waterproof boots (preferred), tall socks you can tuck in your pant legs. Optional: vest with pockets or backpack, field guide, magnifying glass. No Discounts.

Impress your friends and family with handcrafted items that you've made yourself. This is a great activity in which to spend a relaxing time with friends. Learn basic wire-wrapping techniques to make matching wire-wrapped earrings using pre-drilled cultured sea glass available in a variety of colors. Workshop fee includes all materials needed to make two pairs of earrings. No discounts.

Writing Reality in Creative Nonfiction I.

This 1/2 day workshop provides writers (or aspiring writers) in the Creative Nonfiction genre an opportunity to submit their writing for discussion in a workshop setting. CNF includes essay, memoir, literary journalism, narrative poetry, food/travel writing, etc. Bring your laptop (or pen and notebook). Teacher will provide coffee and snacks. Note: Writing Reality in CNF I is a survey and discussion of the genre. In the workshop, students can submit writing in the CNF genre for discussion. You may register for either or both NCF workshops. No discounts.
