Ceramics Camp

Come explore the hands on fun of working with clay. Together we will be making everything from clay magnets to garden gnomes. Every student will have an opportunity to work on the potters wheel if they would like, but the main focus of the class will be centered around handbuilding. A materials fee of $25 is payable to the instructor on the first class.

Ceramics (Beginner & Intermediate)

Ever wanted to take some time for yourself and play with clay, but you were too busy, too tired, or too intimidated? Learn the basics of hand-building, surface decoration, and wheel throwing to create functional pieces and sculptures. This class is geared toward the beginner who would like to learn coil, slab, and pinch construction as well as basic wheel throwing techniques and glazing. New demonstrations are given weekly, but students can also use this time as an open studio to work on their own personal projects. A $55 Materials fee, payable to the instructor, must be paid on the first night of class. Additional clay can be purchased separately. Come work in the brand new studios at Morse!
Beautiful You & Color

In this fun interactive class, you'll be draped in a variety of colors to learn about warmer and cooler tones to determine what types of colors look best on you. You'll also receive recommendations for eye shadows, blush and lipsticks for your coloring so you can put the two together to create a more vibrant you!

Introduction to Ink Brush Calligraphy

In this unique class, we will explore a variety of authentic Chinese calligraphy fundamentals and styles through hands-on and weekly practice experience, discussion and reflection. Class is open to all levels of interest and experience, and could be particularly beneficial for Chinese language learners, graphic designers, and artists who want to forge a stronger connection between typography on a screen and handwritten characters on paper. The class also covers the rich contents of Chinese ancient and contemporary cultures.

Strawberry season is almost here! And what better way to enjoy these berries than in homemade strawberry jam? Join Allison Carroll Duffy, Master Food Preserver and cookbook author, for this hands-on workshop, where you’ll learn not only how to make strawberry jam, but also how to can and preserve it--so that you can enjoy it year round! We’ll cover the basics of safe home canning, including proper procedures, techniques, and use of tools and equipment. Then we’ll learn hands-on by making a big batch of strawberry jam, and canning it using the boiling water bath method. There will be plenty of jam to taste, and each participant will go home with a jar of jam to enjoy. A materials fee of $10 included.
