Be involved in your healthcare. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement beneficial to people, animals, plants and more and everyone can use it. Reiki connects with your own body wisdom which knows what is needed for complete healing for you and Reiki follows this protocol. Reiki also works well in conjunction with all medical or therapeutic techniques. This class will include a brief history of the art, attunement for accessing Reiki energy for self-treatment, hand positions, body scanning method, genealogy chart, introduction to chakras, hands-on clinical experience and a framed certificate. Reiki is not massage, hypnosis, a religion or a tool for diagnosing illness, but it may set you on a path of personal discovery. Instructor Mary Maverick is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a 7th generation Reiki Master/Teacher with over 20 years in the healing arts. This course provides a comprehensive education centered on preventing accidents in aquatic enviroments. It offers up-to-date information on how to take action to help those in danger. Please note several prerequisites, including swim 300 yards, tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs, complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds, among others. Some of the job duties include cleaning and dressing wounds, taking blood samples, administering medications, taking vitals, preparing patient for EKGs, obtaining a patient's history, and assisting physicians during examinations. Our program provides virtual reality-style classwork, as well as traditional teaching for a blended learning experience. Would you like to become a Certified Nursing Assistant? This State-approved 180-hour course consists of classroom time, lab practice and clinical work. Time is spent on the aspects of caring for patients and residents, diseases and disease processes, and anatomy and physiology. Clinical hours allow the student to practice what was learned in the classroom with actual hands-on experience. The Certified Nursing Assistant State Competency Test is administered upon completion of the course.
