Northern Italian Cooking - Mangiare!

In this new, one-night cooking class, we will make three traditional Northern Italian dishes. Cacio e Pepe Pie (Spaghetti Pie), Escarole with Italian Sausage and White Beans, and close with Italian Butterball Cookies. Come prepared to enjoy dinner and take home what is left to savor the next day. No experience needed. Class is part observation and part participation. Join Jinger and venture into the world of gluten free cakes. She’ll bring a fully baked carrot cake, which you’ll will frost and sample while your chocolate cupcakes are baking. Once those cupcakes cool you’ll frost them with peanut butter frosting because chocolate & peanut butter! Recipes will be included. Bring a container to take home any uneaten cake/cupcakes. We’ll cover the basics of safe home canning, including proper procedures, techniques, and use of tools and equipment. Then we’ll learn hands-on by making a big batch of strawberry jam, and canning it using the boiling water bath method.
