Ballroom Dance, Beginner Session II

Students get a unique opportunity to learn both Latin and American Ballroom in one class! Latin Ballroom is one of the hottest dance crazes to hit the U.S.; it's fun, romantic and a great form of exercise. Cruises, nightclubs, weddings, reunions and parties are always more fun when you are dancing, and American Ballroom Dance is a perfect ice breaker. At any social event, the sight of a great dancer moving to a captivating beat is simply irresistible and now you can step in light with confidence. No partner or prior dance experience necessary. In Session I students learn all the basics of Foxtrot, Swing, Salsa and Merengue. In Session II students learn all the basics of Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha and Tango. Classes are held at ABsolutely Fit Center, 9 Cumberland St., Brunswick. No Discounts.

Day Changed to Thursdays! Students continue to learn American and Latin Ballroom in this intermediate dance class. Students who have some ballroom and Latin dance experience are welcome - so get ready to perfect your existing dance steps and build confidence with each class. Students continue to learn all the moves in Foxtrot, Swing, Mambo, Merengue, Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha and Tango. No partner necessary. East Coast Swing Dance Session II

Are you ready to be cool? If so, the Swing is a “must learn” dance. The dance was created by dance studios including the Arthur Murray dance studios in the 1940s, based on the Lindy Hop.  For those who want to learn only Swing, we will be reviewing the foundation and adding more moves, including the triple step.  It will be more technical than the foundation class. Classes are held at ABsolutely Fit Center, 9 Cumberland St., Brunswick. No Discounts.

Come join our fall semester guitar class! Young guitarists are invited to sign up too, while accompanied by an adult, student or not! You will be playing songs in just a few classes! We will practice chords and strumming and work on reading music in standard notation and guitar tablature, while discussing details about correct technique. Get some new strings, start practicing , and bring lots of enthusiasm and questions about guitar! I will check your guitar for ease of playing. New students - $20 material fee paid to instructor.

There are those who don’t consider the classical guitar as cool as the electric guitar but in reality it has its own special level of amazing. There’s no hiding behind distortion or effect pedals; it’s just you and your talented fingers. There’s beauty in its most raw, natural form. Join Brian Cullen in his 5-week introductory course and learn the basics of solo classical and Flamenco guitar.  Explore two Flamenco forms - Soleares and Tangos; understand what compas, falsetas and rasquedos are; learn to read guitar music and tab. You will learn how to hold the guitar correctly, how to pick with thumb and three fingers, and to play simple solos and chords, including two part playing. Find your own guitar cool. Students must bring a nylon string guitar - a footstool is optional.
