Writing Creative Nonfiction (Including Memoir)

Have you been journaling about your life experiences or challenges?  Have you always wanted to write down your family stories or share your successes in life?  Let’s explore the creative nonfiction genre together.  Memoir is a well-known focus of creative nonfiction, but you don’t have to write a memoir to achieve your individual goals.  In this four-week course, we will talk about different CNF forms, how to approach your particular topic or interest, and where to find inspiration.  We’ll have writing prompts to be completed on your own time and we’ll workshop in an online group workshop each week.  Instructor will also offer suggestions for additional (optional) reading based on your personal interests.  All budding writers welcome!  (No previous writing experience required.)

This class is offered through video conferencing and/or pre-recorded video, or a combination of the two. Students must have an audio and video enabled computer, tablet or smartphone to participate. Merrymeeting will send you information about accessing the class prior to its start date.
