In this one evening workshop each attendee will have the opportunity to be draped in different shades of colors to demonstrate how choosing the right shades impacts your appearance and compliments your skin. Participants will also learn their face shape and receive overall tips on how to choose glasses, hairstyles and necklines that are the most flattering for their features. Either bring or have online access to digital content you'll use in your book - text, still images, video, or audio. You can also bring paper copies of pictures and we can digitize them that evening. The First Slice (FS) is a workshop designed expressly for the reticent writer. If you're a beginner who struggles putting pen to paper or fingertips to keys, this workshop is for you. We will mine for where we should begin and tackle three pillars of fiction writing-character, time and place. At the end of this workshop you'll have discovered the organizing point(s) of tension that propels your character to move toward what she/he wants. Ideally, you'l be primed to soldier on in your endeavor to tell your story. This workshop will be taught by an MFA with two published novels and one in the making. Let's find our deepest truth, and figure out where we want to make the first slice in our story. The first cut's the deepest. Please note start date changed.
