Have you been avoiding drawing white flowers on white paper? Garlic, White onions, white mushrooms, white anything! This class will teach you the basics of white on white in living color. Whether you choose simple graphite or colored pencils, the principle is the same. Correct form and subtle tones will enable you to achieve a realistic drawing of whatever white subject you choose to bring to class. Drawing experience necessary. Bring lunch & snacks. Materials to bring: 11 x 14" Strathmore Drawing paper, Best or medium surface, Canson tracing paper, #2H and HB pencils, kneaded eraser, pencil sharpener, drawing board, at least 18" square, colored pencils, 6" or 12" clear plastic ruler, masking tape, magnifying glass...desirable, but not necessary. Using graphite and / or colored pencils, explore the color variations and composition of the simple branch. Birds nests and abandoned wasp nests are also good subjects. Choose one or more from your findings. Drawing experience necessary. Have you always wanted to experience the feel of clay in your hands? Here’s your chance! You will learn the fundamentals of clay and have fun exploring functional and sculptural ceramics using wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. Coursework is dependent on the class’s collective creative desires and will be tailored to best suit individual needs. Open to all: no experience required, but certainly welcomed. This ten-week course includes your $30 materials and studio fee. The fee includes 50 LBS of clay. If a student desires more clay there is an additional fee.  Limited Enrollment, register early!
