In this one night class, we will prepare molten lava cakes, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, and take home a fudge sauce to die for! Bring your sweet tooth and an empty container or two for a night of sinful decadence. Recipes and generous samples of all things we create will be distributed. Classical and Flamenco Guitar an Introduction

There are those who don’t consider the classical guitar as cool as the electric guitar but in reality it has its own special level of amazing. There’s no hiding behind distortion or effect pedals; it’s just you and your talented fingers. There’s beauty in its most raw, natural form. Join Brian Cullen in his 5-week introductory course and learn the basics of solo classical and Flamenco guitar.  Explore two Flamenco forms - Soleares and Tangos; understand what compas, falsetas and rasquedos are; learn to read guitar music and tab. You will learn how to hold the guitar correctly, how to pick with thumb and three fingers, and to play simple solos and chords, including two part playing. Find your own guitar cool. Students must bring a nylon string guitar - a footstool is optional.

Winter is a time to connect with friends. In this two week class we will learn basics of collage and apply knowledge to making cards, 3-D items, wall pieces and great gifts. All supplies are provided. No experience is necessary. Learn about adhesives, die cutters, methods of using magazines, trace monotypes and more. Debra has been teaching adult education classes for over two decades and knows how to apply knowledge of the arts in a systematic manner. Bring scissors and photocopies of photos you might want to use in your work. You will end up with many pieces which will be meaningful to all recipients. Class size limited. $8 Material fee is included in the price of the course.

Perceiving color relationships demands a depth of experience in seeing tones, so you'll become more skilled in thumbnails. Color theory will come into play to advance the building of fine color perception. Materials discussed at first class - approximately $20-$25.
