Summer studio workshop in abstract drawing. A follow up to the previous session’s abstract course, with an emphasis on works on paper. Using pens, brush, and ink, you will learn traditional techniques of rendering tone and surface textures with a pen; giving life to brushwork and calligraphic line; while gaining confidence and evolving your unique style of mark making and motifs. We’ll experiment with various natural ink colors and washes, as well as the combination of ink and watercolor. This will be a good class for anyone interested in pursuing abstract art, as well as any artists looking to inform or deepen their work through the pure, immediate experience of ink drawing.
