Merrymeeting Adult Education

This one day on-water workshop will introduce you to the basic skills of canoeing and SUP's, taught by Master Maine Guide Alice Bean Andrenyak and future Registered Maine Guides. Great for parents, someone who used to canoe or is interested in SUP's and Canoes. Learn how to transport canoes and SUP's properly, how to launch and recover your canoe, strokes for solo and tandem paddling, rescues and emptying filled canoes (capsizing is practiced). Learn the basics of SUP's and practice solo paddling a canoe. Site will be determined within a week of the event in the greater Brunswick area. You should provide your own lifejacket and paddle, but they will be available. If you own a canoe or SUP, please bring it. You will need to wear a wetsuit or drysuit to participate. Limited rentals are available with advance notice. You will bring your own lunch.
