Merrymeeting Adult Education

Creative Writing Workshops offer writers the opportunity to get feedback on their work, give feedback to others, and overall develop excellent, holistic writing skills. If you enjoy writing fiction, nonfiction, or poetry, this course will provide you with constructive criticism from not only the instructor but also from the rest of the participants. This platform allows you to learn from other fellow writers, acquire new perspectives, and become more comfortable with sharing your writing. The instructor will also provide lessons concerning dialogue, characterization, narrative voice, publication, and other important writing elements. The class is welcome to aspiring writers of unpublished works as well as anyone who would like the opportunity to write their first story or poem collection. This class will not typically consist of writing prompts; however, occasional lessons may involve them. Class takes place on Zoom. Students must have an audio and video enabled computer, tablet or smartphone to participate.
