Merrymeeting Adult Education

Parents are required to attend the last 30 minutes of the first class AND participate in a ride-along with your child for the last hour of their 10 hour driving lessons requirement.  Please Note:  There is a make-up fee for missed classes.

Are you 15 years of age or older and want your State of Maine permit to prepare for your driving exam? We offer driver education courses to help build strong, safe, and confident drivers. Students are awarded an instructional permit upon successful completion of the course with a grade of 80 percent or better. Only employee discounts are allowed, but you must call to register. If the student has a medical condition, please contact the office or click on the link below as an additional medical form is required. Total hours of instruction is 40; 30 classroom and 10 driving. Full payment of $535 is required at the time of registration. If a student withdraws from the course, $75 is withheld from the refund to cover program costs. Only employee discounts for this class. Please bring your birth certificate or passport to the first class and a pen to every class.

Session 3:

• 2:30-5:30 pm, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
• September 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29
• October 2 (Final Exam) 
  
• In case of inclement weather - make up days will be 10/4 and 10/6

Session 4:

• 2:30-5:30 pm, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
• November 1, 3, 6, 8, 13, 15, 17, 20, 27, 29 (Final Exam)
  
• In case of inclement weather - make up days will be 12/1 and 12/4

Session 5: 

• 2:30-5:30 pm, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
• April 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 22, 24, 26, 29 (Final Exam)
  
• In case of inclement weather - make up days will be 5/1 and 5/3

Session 6:

• 2:30-5:30 pm, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 
• July 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29 (Final Exam)
