*NOTICE OF WEEKS CHANGE: This class will run for 7 weeks (or sessions), not 8 weeks/sessions.

In this class, we will discuss this particular literary genre, sampling a number of different writers and their stories. We will consider and discuss several of the elements from the ‘crossover’ genres, which at times, exhibit components in what is now called ‘The Strange or Weird Tale’. Students may be required to do weekly short assignments, at times. One Weird or Strange Tale should be composed by the close of the class, to be shared with other class members. The book, The Weird – – an anthology of strange and weird tales, edited by Ann and Jeff Vandermeer, would be an essential material that students would need to purchase. *No Class: 4/21 & 5/26.
