Tell me about a meal you love. More intriguing and evocative than just a cookbook, you'll explore your own food history and share with others in this interactive workshop. We'll intertwine family recipes and/or personal favorites with memory to create a kitchen keepsake to keep or for gifting. Format and function, printing options, food photography, and much more will be covered. Bring your ideas and recipes, as well as tasting samples if you like! Please bring your laptop or writing implements to each class. Also bring 4 favorite recipes to the first class. Homemade snacks for tasting are welcome and encouraged! Recommended reading before class (not required, but helpful): Home Cooking AND More Home Cooking, by Laurie Colwin, any memoir or fiction you have enjoyed that contains recipes, any food columns you have saved over the years and want to share with the class. Karen Schneider is a professional writer, penning the Coastal Journal's popular “Cooking at the Cove” column, and has been a contributor to the Lewiston Sun Journal for 23 years.
