Introduction to Small Loom Weaving
with Sharon A. Gilsleider
This class will give you all the skills necessary for a solid foundation in weaving. We will explore the different small weaving looms, how they work, and what you can produce with them. Then we will present the different types of fibers and materials used in weaving, what items they work best for, and how to care for the finished products. You will learn how to "dress" your loom, different patterns, how colors work, and how to correct mistakes. If you don’t own a loom, this class will help you learn which loom is best for you and where to rent a loom. $20 kit fee included. Class will be held in person on Sept. 22 and Sept. 29; remaining classes will be held on Zoom. Students should have an audio and video-enabled device and reliable internet.
