Merrymeeting Adult Education

In this workshop, we will be working with a selection of organic and locally grown, wild-harvested and ethically procured flora and fungi to make medicinal salves. Alexandra Arellano will bring a selection of herbs, fungi and supplies to create your own salve to take home. She will teach participants how to properly prepare, make and utilize infused salves. This workshop will cover safety and sanitation; as well ethical harvesting, procurement and sustainability within this practice. Our focus will be on process, preparation and necessary tools to be able to make your own salve. We will also discuss some of the plants’ and fungi’s folklore, as well as uses and contraindications.
