with Alexandra Arellano
For this workshop, we will focus on working with a selection of organic and locally grown, wild-harvested and ethically procured flora and fungi to make medicinal tinctures. Alexandra will bring a selection of both fresh and dried herbs and supplies to create your own tincture to take home. She will teach participants how to properly prepare, make and utilize macerated tinctures. We will cover safety and sanitation; as well ethical harvesting, procurement and sustainability within this practice. This workshop will focus on process, preparation and necessary tools to be able to make your own tincture. We will also discuss some of the plants’ and fungi’s folklore, as well as uses and contraindications. Class meets on the following Wednesdays: 9/7, 9/21, 10/5, & 11/9.
