Do you struggle with discomfort, excess tension, fatigue or chronic pain as you move through your daily life? Want to learn to do the things you both enjoy and need to do, more easily and with less tension and effort? Then the Alexander Technique is for you! This well-established technique has a long history of helping people regain poise and ease in activities ranging from sitting at the computer, to gardening, to playing a musical instrument. Come discover the technique that has helped people all over the world, for over 100 years! During this introductory series of classes, you’ll participate in some fun and simple activities that will lead you to: recognize the excess effort and tension you (and everyone!) are unknowingly, unnecessarily and habitually using learn skills to prevent your tension-producing habits from occurring, and develop strategies to incorporate this new, easier way of moving into your daily life.
Judy Pagon has taught the Alexander Technique for over 35 years to people from ages 6 to 86, from individual lessons to large groups, community centers to colleges, and classrooms to rehearsal halls. She currently teaches Alexander Technique for the Pinelands Suzuki School, Merrymeeting Adult Education, and Central Lincoln County Adult Education. She has led sessions for the MMEA (Maine Music Educators Association) conference and for the DaPonte String Quartet’s chamber music workshops. Judy also has a private studio and teaches both individuals and groups, both in-person and online.
