with Zack Rouda
Only 2 days left to register and 2 seats left!
Merrymeeting will not hold classes at its facility and all sites through April 27, due to COVID 19. This class has been postponed until we can choose a new start date. If you would like to sign up, we will be in touch with you about when the class will meet.
The history of the uses of birch bark is an exciting one dating back to our early ancestors. The bark of the paper or white birch tree was a critical material used to make strong and beautiful baskets, hats, sheaths, buckets, and more. Learn to identify, gather, process and weave with this remarkably strong, natural material. We'll practice straight and diagonal plaiting to make a small basket for the kitchen or garden. No required texts, books, special materials, etc. All tools and materials included. Everyone makes a basket to take home. No discounts.
