Merrymeeting Adult Education

Merrymeeting charts a new course this summer in partnership with Sailing Ships Maine. Students will learn to row a dinghy, set and strike sail, steer, navigate, use a marine radio, operate a small outboard, watch the weather, tie knots, and follow basic safety. The primary instructional boat, the Paul Bolger-designed 25 yawl, is a strong, beamy, shallow-draft cruising boat ideal for Merrymeeting Bay. The decks are wide and spacious and will keep students socially distanced as they spend the week outdoors. The cost of each session is $295 and includes basic Sailing Ships Maine sailing certification, T-shirt, rope, and journal. No discounts. Instructor: Alex Agnew
