This course is designed to help artists begin to use color more effectively in their portraits. The venerable trois crayons technique, using sanguine, black and white chalks (and pencils) was favored by masters as a way to create preparatory studies for portrait painting, but are beautiful in their own right. Students of any experience level are welcome, but students who have never had any class instruction with Ed should contact him directly with any questions at ed_higgins@icloud.com.
