with Margery Landis
Please note change in book below description!
The ukulele has been experiencing a huge revival all around the world and here is your chance to take part! Folks of all ages will enjoy playing this very cool and accessible instrument and will learn to read music and play songs by picking and strumming. No prior musical experience is necessary. The instructor taught instrumental music at Mt. Ararat Middle School from 1986-2017 and after taking a leave of absence to study music therapy at Arizona State University in 2008, she fell in love with playing the ukulele! She studies ukulele with master luthier/performer/teacher, Joel Eckhaus in South Portland, the Hawaiian masters at the Aloha Music Camp in Hawaii, and at the Ukulele Summit in Bethesda, Maryland. Students need to have their own ukulele in good working condition to use for the class. Both Dube’s Music in Freeport and The Music Center in Brunswick carry excellent, entry level ukuleles at reasonable prices. For this class a standard (soprano), concert, or tenor ukulele must be used. Students will need to purchase their own book for this class. The book is The Complete Ukulele Method, Beginning by Greg Horne and Shana Aisenberg, edited by Daniel Ho Published by Alfred Music ISBN-10: 1-4706-2718-3 (Book, DVD & Online Video/Audio) for $25.99 Alfred Number 44672 The Complete Ukulele Method -- Beginning Ukulele (Book, DVD & Online Audio & Video) (Complete Method)
