Winter: Weekend Retreat for Writers
with Raye Leonard
only 5 seats left
Nurture your writing practice with an intentional at-home writing retreat led by Raye Leonard, former editor of the Coastal Journal and former English instructor in the Maine Community College system. We will gather on Zoom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening for inspiring introductions and flexible instructions for a productive and satisfying retreat. Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon will include several rounds of writing from prompts, practice in how to listen to your writing for the story it wants to tell, plus how to get out of the way of the words. You will be encouraged to develop one piece from the morning session to share for feedback during the afternoon session from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Develop this piece further Saturday evening on your own or apply new insights and learning to a current work-in-progress. Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon is an opportunity for you to briefly share this work. Please note this is not a manuscript workshop. The class takes place on Zoom.
Students must have an audio- and video-enabled desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone to participate. More information and retreat prep guidance will be sent in advance. Please contact Raye directly at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
