Book Talk: Regina Strongheart
with Regina Strongheart
Free
Regina Strongheart's book, “When My Mother was a Mountain” is based on her month-long solo camping trip in the Black Hills of SD in 1996. For this event, Regina will read some of her chapters, entertain questions and discussions, and have books for purchasing. Regina was a chemistry teacher for thirty years. She learned about her healing gifts organically through her many adventures, individual research into the healing arts, and her own personal healing journey. She lives in a magical forest in Topsham, Me. where she operates her business, Forest Circles. "In the summer of 1996 my life took a detour during a month-long solo camping trip to the sacred Black Hills area of South Dakota. My only companion was my German shepherd, Doug. It was then that some unimaginable things happened. I sensed emanations from the land, saw the ghosts of Indigenous people, and watched birds morph before my eyes. The journey led to a spontaneous transformation from ordinary science teacher into medical intuitive and healer. During my trip I encountered dangerous storms, generous Native Americans, and confusing encounters with others. In my journal, I documented my near catastrophes, metaphysical anomalies, and the incredible sadness of the area. While writing the memoir I relived my childhood, growing up in the farmlands of New Hampshire."
