Maine Death w/ Dignity Act
with Valerie Lovelace
There is still a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about Maine's compassionate end-of-life care option. Many providers and patients in Maine are still not familiar with Maine's Death with Dignity Act. In effect since September 2019, the law permits physicians to practice medical aid-in-dying under specific circumstances. Know the facts and, if qualified, the right to access medical aid in dying if they choose. Join this class to get fact-based information and all the details you need to know about Maine's law, how to have the conversation with your physician, and how to qualify for the law or support your loved one who may be qualifying. (No materials/supplies required).

Intro to Mat Pilates w/ Barbara
with Barbara McGranahan
Beginner mat classes are for people who have never tried Pilates before, those who’ve had a substantial break from the practice, and for many of us whose bodies might have their fair share of quirks yet don’t require individual postural correction. With a focus on the breath and flow, Pilates exercises relieve stress and soothe aches and pains. With all the hunching, sitting, and planning we tend to do, the cues and corrections of each class will increase your postural and muscular awareness, both during class and the minute you step out of class. ***Please bring your own mat.

Recycle, Renew, Reuse
with Deena Ball
Mixed Media Collage Workshop. We all possess those watercolor paintings that don't quite meet our expectations, yet we haven't discarded them. Instead of discarding, cut up your paintings, introduce other types of paper, paint over them, rearrange, and reinvent in a collaborative group setting. We will share supplies, exchange ideas, and learn new techniques for creating textures, resists, and crafting your own collage. Make a series of small collages to use as notecards or make a large collage - totally up to you. This will be a day of fun filled creativity. A materials fee of $15 will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. Please note: This is a one day 7-hour workshop with a brief break for lunch. Bring your own lunch/snacks.

The class will culminate in a two hour painting study, with individualized support provided by the instructor. Students can either buy themselves the required materials - a materials list will be provided - or they can buy material kits from the instructor (additional $23 fee).
