Hand Stamped Christmas Explosion Box

In this class, we will follow step by step instructions to create a unique explosion box! When the top is removed, the inside pops open and reveals pockets to tuck in a note or gift card, and colorful decorations. We will also make a mini gable box perfect for that small gift. Precut kits and envelopes are provided. Participants need a pair of scissors and colored pencils or markers.
Introductory Sashiko Stitching

This is an introductory hands-on class designed to learn the “ins and outs” of the Japanese running stitch technique called Sashiko. We’ll discuss the history of this beautiful and utilitarian stitching; types of fabrics, threads & needles; learn basic traditional patterns and how to transfer them, and use some of the tools that help make this a mindful and enjoyable pastime. We’ll create a small sampler of stitches and patterns, which can then be made into a potholder, a small quilt. Fabric, thread and tools are supplied, along with many handouts that will help you continue your journey long after class is over. *A materials fee of $25 is due to the instrcutor on the first night of class.
Beginner Book Binding

This class introduces the vocabulary of the book, the tools and materials needed for making beginner books. On the first evening we will hand decorate our papers, using different mark-making tools in calligraphic ways. The second night we will stitch two pamphlet books, binding them with soft and hard covers. Finally we will create pocket accordion books and begin to consider how to fill them. A materials fee of $20 payable to the instructor is due on the first night. Tools will also be provided.
Be Safe When Your Office Is Someone's Home

Colorful & Expressive Pastel Sketching

Designed for beginners but open to all levels, we will use our pastels in a loose, expressive way to create several quick drawings, with the goal of finding new approaches to a very traditional medium. Using expressive mark-making and bold color choices, we will work from a selection of reference photos from our beautiful state of Maine. An array of mats will be provided, with the goal of everyone leaving with something matted that they would consider worthy of display! *Registration is required by Nov 19th.
Felted Wool Holiday Tabletop Trees

In this workshop you will use recycled wool scraps and fairy lights to create a stunning 18” holiday tabletop tree in the festive colors of your choice. Using pieces of old sweaters and other felted remnants, you will combine gorgeous colors and rich textures to create an heirloom quality display that can be enjoyed for years to come. Tree materials are included – bring a glue gun, lots of glue sticks, and a 6’ extension cord.
