This gentle class is for those looking to stretch, connect to the breath and practice traditional yoga postures, at a slow pace. We gently and safely encourage our muscle tissues to deeply lengthen and stretch, increasing range of motion and flexibility. Conscious intention and awareness are given to the breath, strengthening the nervous system and deepening the connection to mind and body. This class is designed for new, as well as, seasoned yogis looking for a mindful, gentle practice.

Self-Compassion Mini-Retreat: The Art and Science of Treating Yourself Like a Good Friend

This heart-centered 2-hour retreat offers a gentle pause to care for yourself with the same compassion you extend to others. Using practices from the Mindful Self-Compassion program, you’ll explore what it means to meet yourself with warmth, especially in difficult moments. Whether you're new to self-compassion or returning to your practice, this session offers practical tools to bring more understanding to yourself in any moment. Activities include: Discussion of the three core components of self-compassion, Guided meditations and self-compassion practices, Journaling with gentle reflection prompts, and Group sharing or quiet integration time. Please bring: A yoga mat, a journal, and anything that helps you feel comfortable and supported.

Men's Stretching and Strengthening Program

In this class, we will be using a combination of soft flowing and strengthening exercises, gentle stretching and balance postures focusing on postural alignment, focused breathing and a meditative mindset. Loneliness and social isolation in older adults is a serious public health risk that affects a significant number of people in the US, putting them at risk for dementia and other serious conditions. For this reason, Tony Dancer, under his TDF program, has created the “Young at Heart Fiesta” Latin Fusion dance class program with low impact, low-volume music to protect hearing, easy steps to follow and lots of laughter. This program is offered free of charge with Tony Dancer, plus once a month potlucks! Adults with strong social relationships have a lower risk of major health problems, such as depression, high blood pressure, and an unhealthy body mass index. *Program is for individuals 70+ only.
